Curriculum Development

We have a curriculum designed to engage students and teach them lessons that involve growing food (and herbs), developing a sense of community, nutrition and health, respect for the environment, and developing social studies and communication skills. Lessons are also designed to integrate concepts taught in traditional math, science, language, and social studies classes. We believe that getting children involved with gardening and cooking builds a strong foundation for respect of the environment and stimulates greater wellness through knowledge and application of healthy choices.
Moreover, the children share their garden experiences with pen and pc pals across the world. This participation is a character building global activity that inspires imagination, research, virtual travel, and builds communication skills. It also helps to promote self reliance, plus international tolerance, understanding, sharing, and other positive character attributes.
